Working directly for Milton Keynes Council (Architecture MK) and the school, the complete replacement of all windows and doors within the complex was undertaken across term time and the school holidays.
Although most of the critical work was undertaken during the summer closure period, completion had to be undertaken while the school was open. It was therefore necessary to plan safeguards for the staff and pupils, which required close co-ordination with the school. Undertaken across September and October 2005, the £214,000 project was completed on time and with minimal disruption to school work.
Afterwards, Ann Green, Headteacher, wrote saying “The replacement of windows and doors ran smoothly. The fitters clearly had a wealth of experience of working in schools, keeping open good lines of communication, were sensitive to needs of staff, had an awareness of children’s safety and were flexible when necessary. The Project Manager in particular checked daily that the school was happy with progress and nothing was too much trouble for him.”
