The refurbished Marylebone Campus of the University of Westminster is home to the Faculty of Architecture and the Built Environment, as well as Westminster Business School. The Faculty of Architecture is one of the UK’s leading centres for the study of Architecture and the Built Environment, inspiring more than 2,000 students at its teaching base at Marylebone, in London opposite Baker Street underground station. The Faculty aims to explore the core subject areas that address the future shape of cities and encourage the dynamic thinking that makes their courses the envy of others.
The Westminster Business School was established in 1997 and nowadays has nearly 5,000 students with around 1,000 registered at postgraduate level. It has an annual turnover in excess of £45 million making it one of the largest University business schools in the UK. It has an academic staff of around 200 full-time equivalents with a further 150 visiting lecturers.
Hazlemere Commercial were sub-contracted by main contractors Vinci to manufacture and install Reynaers CW50SC aluminium structural glazed curtain walling with parallel openers, Reynaers Vision 50 aluminium commercial doors and Reynaers Eco 50 Tilt Before Turn aluminium double glazed windows. The Building remained occupied throughout the project, so Hazlemere Commercial worked hand in hand with Vinci and architects at the GHM Consultancy Group, along with Westminster University to ensure minimal disruption and that there was no impact on academic studies.
