Featuring on Channel 4 television’s Grand Designs programme, this presented one of our most challenging projects to date. The architect designed property was unique in that it had linked decagon or part-decagon shapes forming the rooms, and the doors and windows featured a variety of shapes and angles.
Working in partnership with the architect and ourselves, our supplier, Reynaers UK, solved the structural problems by designing and fabricating bespoke fastenings which linked the vertical glazing panels and doors to the steel supporting structure.
Installation was in stages as the building work progressed. This required an unusually high number of site visits, but we are sufficiently resourced to meet such demands for staged and flexible installation. Our client demanded the very highest standards of installation, and has subsequently written to confirm that these were met to his total satisfaction.
