An extensive refurbishment at Radcliffe School in Milton Keynes featured more than 360 Monaframe casement windows and 45 Stormframe high performance doors. Based on a 50-acre site, the once grammar, now mixed comprehensive school dates back to the 1950’s and accommodates 1300 students in two separate buildings, which are both named after previous headmasters, Morgan Hall and Orchard Hall.
Morgan Hall, the older of the two buildings, is where the majority of the renovation work has taken place. Renovation to the 38-year old school was made possible through the Government’s ‘New Deal for Schools’ initiative which has enabled schools such as Radcliffe to undertake long-overdue building maintenance work.
Milton Keynes Council specified the aluminium double glazed Monaframe system because of Sapa’s experience in providing fenestration to the local authority sector, and in particular, schools. The versatility and proven use of the Monaframe system were also key reasons why it was selected for the £800,000 fenestration project.
“Everyone at The Radcliffe School would like to thank you for the excellent transformation of our school and the way your teams conducted themselves during school hours.” Ms Liz Gifford – Headteacher, Radcliffe School
