Acting as Principal Contractors for Housing 21 Housing Association Hazlemere Commercial’s brief was to undertake a complete facelift of all Malmesbury Court’s seventy one to two bedroom residences, covered walkways and communal areas.
Hazlemere undertook a detailed consultation with all the residents and Housing 21, to select the best window profile design and operation for the refurbishment of these particular premises. Scaffold was then erected to allow the careful removal of existing asbestos, prior to the replacement double glazing installation. Working in close liaison with the 70 residents, all the original Crittal Steel Windows were removed and replaced with marine quality powder coated aluminium windows, insulated panels and fascias.
Internal trims were fitted to all reveals, eliminating the need for any redecoration. The refurbishment installation programme of sixteen weeks was started in the Summer of 2008 and completed by the Autumn of 2008. All the Sapa 75 casement aluminium windows were fitted with high performing sealed units with a centre pane value of 1.2 watts per square metre.
