Hazlemere Commercial have completed five phases of replacement aluminium windows at John Hampden Grammar School for boys over a three year period from 2013 to 2016, replacing the original silver anodised vertical sliding single glazed windows, known to many former pupils as “guillotines” the original windows were sprung and sometimes had the tendency to move suddenly vertically, so presented a danger to the person looking to open or close them.
Hazlemere Commercial also had previously completed various blocks at the adjacent Wycombe Girls High School, like John Hampden, also on Marlow Hill in High Wycombe. In-fact Wycombe High School’s recommendation of Hazlemere’s quality of product and installation, was one of the reasons the first phase of replacement windows work at John Hampden Grammar School was secured in the first place, following a successful CIF (Conditions Improvement Fund) bid by the school. These were ideal contracts for Hazlemere to deliver, as both these prestigious schools are located less than 1/2 a mile from Hazlemere Commercial’s factory, where all the replacement commercial aluminium for both these educational establishments were fabricated.
The products fitted were white powder coated double glazed Sapa Dualframe 75 SI aluminium commercial windows, and Sapa ST thermally broken commercial aluminium entrance doors, some of which open automatically. The vast majority of the replacement windows were programmed to be installed during school holidays, ensuring there was no disruption to the school’s educational timetable. The fact that Hazlemere Commercial won phase after phase is a testimony to the way they directly liaised with the school to ensure their requirements were met.
