Hazlemere Commercial Marketing Director Mark Austin Elected As GGF Vice-President
At a Glass and Glazing Federation Board meeting yesterday, Mark was elected as Vice-President, a position that carries with it a position as a Director on the GGF Board. Hazlemere joined the GGF as members over 3 years ago and in January 2017, Mark was elected as the Chairman of the GGF Windows and Doors Group.
A Bit About Mark
Mark has been involved in Sales & Marketing continuously for over 35 years, during which time he was the elected Chairman of the southern region of Marketing Managers Association for more than 5 successive years, chairing quarterly meetings of commercial managers from the Premier League, Championship, Leagues One & Two. The MMA & the LMA (League Managers Association) are part of IFMA (The Institute of Football Management & Administration). As Chairman of the southern region he attended the national IFMA executive meetings which were roughly 3-4 a year. He has a degree in Archaeology & Geography, so is very experienced at working with old fossils! He has lived in Beaconsfield in Bucks his entire life and is a member at Beaconsfield Artisan Golf Club.
Happily married for over 32 years, Mark has 3 grown up children, 4 grandchildren and 2 cats. Currently Marketing Director at Hazlemere Window Company Ltd in High Wycombe, where he’s been for over 10 years. Mark is Chairman of the GGF Windows & Doors Group and also a volunteer organiser of all the Men’s Social Events at Kings Church Amersham, a modern community church that focuses on assisting the local community in South Buckinghamshire.
Work Experience
His first full time job was for office furniture manufacturers Antocks Lairn Ltd in High Wycombe as a sales executive. Next he worked for 2.5 years as the Southern Regional Sales Manager for Foremost Furniture in Southport. In 1986 he started up and ran Rosehill Contract Furnishing Ltd in Beaconsfield, Bucks for 5 years before selling his bespoke community hall furniture company in 1991.
Mark worked full time for Wycombe Wanderers Football Club from 1992 at Adams Park for nearly 13 years as Director of Sales & Marketing. In late 2005 Mark became QPR’s Commercial Director, working at Loftus Road.
Mark eventually left the roller coaster ride that is the football industry and became the Business Development Manager at High Wycombe based Advanced Interior Solutions Ltd, high quality office fit out specialists until 2008, before joining Hazlemere Windows, also in High Wycombe on 1st March 2008, where he works in the Commercial Division as well as doing Marketing for the Retail & Trade Division.
