Inside IPF Box At Twickenham

RFU Injured Players Foundation Box At Twickenham

A VIP box at London’s world-famous Twickenham Stadium was given a face-lift by commercial aluminium glazing specialists Hazlemere Commercial. The luxurious hospitality space is owned by the RFU’s Injured Players Foundation, catering to former rugby professionals who’ve sustained brain or spinal injuries playing the game.

Designed to offer a first-class match-watching experience while remaining fulling accessible to wheelchair users, the executive-level box has now been further enhanced with the installation of two automatic double-doors, designed, manufactured and installed by Hazlemere Commercial. The Sapa 202 model aluminium doors incorporate toughened safety glass to ensure spectator safety, and polyamide thermal break technology to provide outstanding energy efficiency. They can be locked open during the summer months, or left on their default setting, which sees them open when their sensors detect movement.

“We were absolutely delighted to work on this project,” commented Hazlemere Sales Director Tony Beale. “It was a privilege to support the fantastic work of the Injured Players Foundation, and provide them with a hospitality space that’s even safer, more comfortable, more user-friendly than the one they had before.”

The RFU IPF provide support and information to rugby players in England who sustain spinal cord or brain injuries playing the game, and help prevent future injuries through research and education. Available to any player, from grassroots to professional level, the RFU IPF is constantly funding research aimed at making breakthroughs in the treatment of rugby injuries, and how to better prevent such injuries occurring.

Hazlemere Commercial are respected throughout the industry for their expertise in complex and challenging developments in the education, local authority, commercial and residential markets. The company also frequently acts as the main contractor on projects. Its extensive range of products from Sapa, AluK and Reynaers are all made on site at its 38,000 square foot facility on the outskirts of High Wycombe.
