When Stuart Braham set up Hazlemere Window Company Ltd with his father George Braham and brother Ian Braham early in 1985, he had no idea that the family business would grow to become one of the region’s leading employers, and that its commercial division would successfully get on so many framework agreements year after year like Buckinghamshire County Council, the London Housing Consortium and Hampshire County Council.
Today, Hazlemere is still a wholly family owned and run business, which owns its impressive 56,000 square foot Head Office and Factory premsies in High Wycombe in Buckinghamshire. Many of the Braham family still work within the business. Stuart is still the Managing Director, and together with many other family members has seen the company flourish. He, along with Director Tony Beale set up Hazlemere Commercial in 1992, the division being the largest part of the company’s annual turnover. The company’s ethos of first class service together with high quality bespoke products combined with traditional craftsmanship has seen the commercial division grow year on year.
As independent double-glazing manufacturers and installers, Hazlemere Commercial has made no secret of its success, which includes its policies of focusing on client satisfaction and retaining the skills, enthusiasm and dedication of their key employees through encouragement, rewarding craftsmanship and promoting from within.
Hazlemere Window Company Ltd may have started off as humble aluminium and UPVC supplier and installer to local homeowners, but today it offers a great deal more. Its product range has been developed extensively over the past 34 years and there has been huge growth in their customer base with projects ranging from very traditional dwellings, to contemporary homes, and many contenders that wouldn’t look out of place on Grand Designs.
Hazlemere Commercial primarily works with local authorities, main contractors, schools and management consultancies, undertaking a wide range of commercial projects from new build homes to full high rise block refurbishments to educational buildings, but the original ethos of customer service and quality of product and installation is still very much at the fore.
The success spanning over four decades does not mean that Hazlemere will be resting on its laurels. The plan is to not to sit still – but as its owner Stuart Braham points out, it is vital to keep core values in place.
