Hazlemere Commercial first engaged with Lancaster Gate Housing Association (LGHA), located on Gloucester Terrace in West London six years ago. This was when Lancaster Gate Housing Association initiated plans for replacing over one thousand windows and doors in one hundred and thirty properties on the Barrie Estate in Bayswater, West London.
Hazlemere Commercial won this £1.8m project through a thorough residents consultation, initial planning conception, design and budget costings. This also included Hazlemere Commercial manufacturing and installing 3 pilot windows to aid in the planning application process and to assist the Lancaster Gate Housing Association with their final product selection down to the smallest detailing. Hazlemere then assisted them in producing drawings, including dimensional section drawings to accompany the LGHA’s planning application.
Planning was granted back in the Summer of 2018. Hazlemere were then commissioned to undertake a pilot installation scheme, which they fabricated and installed early in 2019. This quite extensive pilot installation scheme was undertaken at the Lancaster Gate Housing Association’s request to 3 different residential apartments on Barrie Estate, with the specific aim of also producing an accurate asbestos survey. As expected by both parties, asbestos was identified during this replacement windows installation and the removal of the remaining asbestos became part of refurbishment contract LGHA awarded to Hazlemere Commercial.
The works Hazlemere Commercial commenced in earnest during the Autumn of 2019 included Sapa aluminium double glazed window and door replacements, full scaffolding, concrete and brick repairs, extensive external decorating, asbestos removal and associated internal making good. As the installation image below illustrates, the first phase of the aluminium replacement window programme has been completed, which included a combination of the use of bespoke Sapa Crown aluminium casement windows and bespoke Sapa Dualframe 75 Si aluminium casement windows, all of which were surveyed, then manufactured by Hazlemere Commercial in their 38,000 square foot High Wycombe factory, prior to their fitters installing them on Gloucester Terrace in West London for LGHA.
