During the latter part of 2013, specialist aluminium fabricators Hazlemere Commercial surveyed, manufactured and installed thermally efficient bespoke replacement fenestration products at Astley Cooper School, a visual and performing arts college in Hemel Hempstead, namely Sapa DF75 commercial aluminium casement externally beaded double glazed windows and Sapa 202 commercial aluminium double glazed doors. Hazlemere Commercial had to fit new horizontal and vertical steel-work in-front of the existing structure before they were able to fit the new commercial aluminium double glazed windows.
This much needed £230,000 + VAT replacement windows and doors project was undertaken direct for the school, in St Agnalls Lane, Hemel Hempstead in Hertfordshire who tasked Hazlemere Commercial with replacing all the existing steel framed single glazed windows in the inefficient and out-dated main school block with new Sapa Building Systems aluminium windows and doors.
The project in 2013 was phase one, as this Visual and Performing Arts School then planned to have Sapa aluminium products installed in all the remaining blocks over several phases, which took place in 2014, when the Maths and Food Technology building was totally refurbished. The works that Hazlemere Commercial carried out brought these blocks up to modern building standards, improving long term energy efficiency, whilst addressing the aesthetics to give it a far more modern modern visual appeal. In addition, Hazlemere Commercial introduced solar control glass throughout the project to create a much more comfortable environment for both teachers and pupils.
