Hazlemere have been manufacturing and installing aluminium double glazed windows since 1985, so have over thirty years experience and expertise, fitting both aluminium and UPVC windows into new build and replacing worn out windows in existing buildings.
Hazlemere Commercial specialise in refurbishment projects, often being appointed as the main contractors, particularly in the educational sector, where they work mainly for local authorities and Management Consultancies, but also for Developers, Chartered Surveyors and sometimes direct with schools. colleges and Universities themselves.
A recent example where Hazlemere worked direct with an education establishment was in 2016, when they worked direct for the University of Reading, totally refurbishing two large educational blocks in 2016 at a cost of £715,000 + VAT. Installation work was carried out on the University’s Maths block (see image of part of Maths block top right), which was fitted with multiple large Sapa vertical sliding windows equipped with tilt functionality for easy cleaning, and special locking catches to prevent unauthorised use. Hazlemere Commercial also completed work on the University’s JJ Thompson building – fitting large Sapa pivot double glazed windows equipped with heavy-duty hardware to cope with weights well above normal size limitations, as well as several commercial doors, and used cranes to lift several 200 kg double glazed sealed units position. Hazlemere also redecorated the building’s existing timber cladding.
Due to the fact that year in. year out, Hazlemere Commercial specialise in education refurbishment projects, this means that most works need careful scheduling, as the administrators of educational buildings prefer the existing windows and doors to be replaced out of term time, leaving critical windows of opportunity during half-terms, Easter school holidays and the summer holidays. Consequently, Hazlemere can get booked up very early indeed, so it is always wise to approach them very early on during each project’s formulation phase, agreeing a timetable that will enable the refurbishment works to be completed on time and on budget, something Hazlemere have a proven track record of achieving for over three decades.
