Hazlemere Window Company Ltd have been members of FENSA (Hazlemere’s FENSA Registration No. is 10589) since it’s inception in 2002. FENSA is the leading body providing homeowner protection in the double glazing industry for double glazed windows and doors.
What is FENSA?
FENSA is an acronym that stands for Fenestration Self-Assessment Scheme. Following Government encouragement, FENSA was set up by the Glass and Glazing Federation (GGF) and other industry bodies in response to the need to enforce the Building Regulations in England and Wales on double glazing companies.
When replacing windows and doors, homeowners must now a) comply with the higher thermal performance standards required since the changes to the Building Regulations on 1st October 2010 and b) ensure they get a certificate from FENSA or their Local Authority Building Control. FENSA enables companies that install replacement windows and doors to self-certify compliance under these Building Regulations without the need for an assessment from Building Control.
An independent report commissioned by the Government found FENSA to be the most successful of all competent person schemes to date in the UK, across all industries. FENSA, who have over 7,000 double glazing companies on their books, is the leading brand trusted by consumers, local authorities, industry and Government.
Why is there greater protection with a FENSA registered company?
- Regular assessment of each FENSA double glazing company by an independent inspection body
- Ten year insurance backed guarantee available to the homeowner on every installation
- FENSA Building Regulations certificate dispatched to the homeowner after every registered installation as proof of compliance
- Your property will be compliant with Building Regulations without the added costs, red tape and time arranging an assessment by Building Control
