Lord Grey School

Hazlemere Commercial was selected as the main contractor for this major project at Lord Grey School, working directly for Architecture MK (the architectural division of Milton Keynes).

Lord Grey School opened in 1973 as a community comprehensive school following the amalgamation of Bletchley Grammar and Wilton Secondary schools. New accommodation was provided to supplement the existing facilities. The school was incorporated as a Grant Maintained School on 1st April 1993 and moved to Foundation status on 1st September 1999, under the New Framework for Schools. Today the school is still a Foundation school and a community focused school with strong links with the Local Authority.

The refurbishment works Hazlemere Commercial were appointed to carry out involved replacing the windows, doors and associated framing to large areas of the school, including the tower blocks. As par t of the work, Hazlemere Commercial also had to form openings for new doors into the Library, and construct temporary ramps. The Sapa Building Systems Dualframe 75 aluminium profile was selected for the new double glazed windows, and this was complemented by Dualframe HP (High Performance) doors and Sapa 202 commercial aluminium entrance doors, which is a product range ideally suited to these sort of projects.
